Welcome to My Blog!

 

Hello! My name is Prior Van Heukelom and I am a senior at Roosevelt High School. After I graduate, I will be attending Drake University to major in Elementary Education with a concentration in Social Justice in Urban Education. I am currently involved in the Dream to Teach program at Central Campus, through which I am a student teacher in a 3rd grade classroom at Downtown School. Outside of school, I am interested in film, music, and art. I am extremely passionate about education and empowering students. As a mentor, I hope to be a safe person for the students I work with and I want to help them navigate the challenges they are facing in order to grow into the strong, confident individuals I know they can be. I am so excited to be involved in the GT Leadership and Mentoring program this semester!
