Week 8

I started this week by helping students individually working on their letter writing skills. Also on Monday, the class got a karaoke machine delivered! Mrs. Carlson explained that the karaoke machine is going to be used to practice public speaking and microphone skills. I think that this is a very important skill for the students to have. Public speaking, especially at an event where you will need a microphone, can be extremely nerve wracking. I hope that this practice will make those experiences easier for the students in the future. Another new addition to Mrs. Carlson's room this week were caterpillars! The caterpillars will grow into Painted Lady Butterflies in Mrs. Carlson's room and then they will be released outside. This means that for the rest of the week during my time at Hubbell we learned all about butterflies and their metamorphosis. The students made flipbooks about the metamorphosis process, where they drew each stage on a flap and wrote information about it underneath.
